Vlada is a recent Ryerson University graduate from one of the best fashion design programs in North America. She draws her inspiration from nature and translates it into her designs through creative style lines and challenging tailoring.

The Gneiss collection is designed for the masculine identifying women, transgender men, or women who love to borrow from men’s apparel. The collection embodies traditional masculine styles and silhouettes with a fit for a small frame. The problems of large armholes, excessive crotch fabric, and large shoulders that are usual in men’s apparel are resolved while still maintaining the masculine style lines and silhouettes.

The inspiration for each garment is drawn from the breakdown of gneiss rock into it's three main compounds: layered mica, blocked feldspar, and structured quartz. The beauty of these radically different compounds together in one rock are reflected in this strategically designed collection where each single article of clothing matches every other item within the collection.
The pattern for the pullover sweater was inspired by the beauty of gneiss rock under a microscope. The custom print was created by Vlada Tabachuk and printed on 100% organic cotton.

The biggest challenge for the collaborative VKRM2 collection was staying true to one's personal design style while creating an outfit that was cohesive with the vision of 4 other designers. The irregular seams and style lines show Vlada's individuality while the general silhouette fit with the rest of the collaborative collection.
The Fusewear collection was inspired by the whimsy and airiness of sweet pea flowers which is most apparent in the movement of the fabric.

This small collection has won Vlada Tabachuk the Faces Choice Award of Favorite Halifax Fashion Designer in 2012.
